iRok2 - now with more easy!

Not everyone is a rokstar with a plastic guitar. That’s what you told us in our site survey. Even iRok2’s easier difficulties can sometimes be a little intimidating to play. We hear you. We’ve taken another look at how we display the game track and notes and made a few improvements. Our goal, as always, is to make the game both fun and accessible. Check it out in the two screen shots below (both using the 3-fret Easy difficulty).

If you focus on the track changes you’ll notice we now only show the note lanes that are needed - centered and slightly zoomed in. The notes also move a lot slower on the easier difficulties. We’re hoping this makes it feel less like you’re being shot at and more like you’re paddling down a stream admiring the endless beauty of a multi-colored forest reflected in the calm water below. The challenging difficulties, for the most part, remain unchanged. What do you think? Is this a step forward? Would you have preferred the stream analogy include multi-colored piranha?

By clicking Request Track for the “Imagination Movers theme song” video at just the right time, doot (can we call you “doot”?) earned a one month All-Access Pass and 3000 coins! Congrats! Stop by doot’s studio, check out the music mix and arrange a friendly Challenge. It’s kinda crazy, but our catalog is already teeming with 3458 different tracks. This means that the 4000th track competition is just around the corner. Stay tuned.
